The Cultural Landscape Association (CLA) is a non-profit organization specialized in the area of Cultural Landscape and the only institution in Iran that focuses on cultural landscapes interdisciplinary. The Association’s mission is to strengthen the role of cultural landscape in sustainable development in Iran and the Middle East region, by building the capacity of all those professionals and bodies involved with cultural landscape recognition, protection, conservation and management in the region, through training, research, the dissemination of information and network building.
Now, after our very successful international tours and on-site workshops “Taste Paradise I and II” in May 2013 and 2019, “Landscape Transformation” in May 2015, “Taste Persian Cultural Landscape & Architecture” in November 2018, Cultural Landscape Association (CLA) is planning to orchestrate another journey in the summer and fall of 2019:
- Summer Tour- 5th CLAT: Iranian Architecture at a Glance (03 to 09 August 2019)
- Fall Tour- 6th CLAT: Taste Paradise III (09 Nov. to 16 Nov. 2019)
Summer Tour: Iranian Architecture at a Glance (03 to 09 August 2019) Iran possesses one of the most ancient civilizations and has always been a favorable habitat for humanity throughout history due to different variability in a different part of it. The history of Iranian architecture dates back to at least 5,000 BC which its characteristic examples distributed over a vast area from Turkey and Iraq to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and from the Caucasus to Zanzibar. Even after this long period of time, certain the design element of Iranian architecture persisted and has appeared as a great variety, both structural and aesthetic, from a variety of traditions and experience. To introduce this variety we are planning to organize a journey titled “Iranian Architecture at a Glance” for experts and professionals all around the globe, to visit and enjoy the cultural beauty of Persian Architecture.

Fall Tour: Taste Paradise III (09 Nov. to 16 Nov. 2019) Persian Garden is a well-known garden style in the world. Besides overcoming the environmental restraints, creators of Persian Gardens have also manifested cultures and beliefs of people living in this land in their work; and that’s the reason orientalists have known Persian Garden a symbol of “Promised Paradise”. Persian Garden is in great harmony with its natural and cultural surroundings and cannot be identified segregated from Iran’s characteristics and peoples’ culture and belief. Until now, 22 Iranian sites have been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Iran’s Persian Garden is one of the sites inscribed on UNESCO’s List in 2011. The property includes nine gardens in as many provinces.
