- Abstract in English : The author finds out how community orchard schemes are benefiting older people and helping to celebrate local distinctiveness. Common Ground’s community orchards campaign is helping to reverse the devastating trend towards homogenisation in food production, but in several instances community orchards have also provided an unexpected therapeutic diversion for elderly people, with benefits reaching far beyond the provision of fresh fruit. Involvement in this project seems to encourage well being in different ways. There are many different ways: mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, behavioural, social.
- Comments/Notes : KEYWORDS: Community gardening, elderly people, well being. UTILITY: lecturers/teachers, academic research, students of universities of professional education.
