- Abstract in English : Within place theory, the research investigated relationships between activities carried out in a place and evaluative aspects of the same place. Over the past 20 years, the place construct has taken on increasing importance in environmental psychology as the basic unit of analysis in the study of person-environment transactions. The aim of the present work was to empirically investigate the relations between the evaluative aspects of a place and activities carried out there; in particular, to investigate the relationship between neighbourhood evaluation/satisfaction on one side and urban activities/practices on the other with reference to inhabitants of a neighbourhood in the city of Rome. The investigation evaluated both the neighbourhood environment and the activities of the inhabitants residing in the neighbourhood. A place is studied as part of a multiplace system that is established because inhabitants organize their residential neighbourhood activities as a function carried out in non-residential urban places.
