  • Contents in English : OUTLINE: Increases in the pacelization and development of private forestlands in the US and other countries have become a major concern of natural agencies and groups. Information is needed about how parcelization and development is perceived for critical forest areas. The authors attempt to provide this detail for the Wisconsin Northwoords. Critical themes have been identified in four main areas of parcelization: patterns (movements, distribution, size and rate of change; drivers (attractiveness, combined with changes in the economic demographic, and technological aspects of society); effects (on recreation, forest health, local communities, timber-based economies; Solutions (integrated strategy).
