  • Abstract in English : Access to private land by the public for non-destructive recreation exists in Sweden through Allemansrätt (Everyman’s Right or the Right of Common Access). It grew out of customary practices dating back to the Middle Ages. This is a convention whose limits are set by other written law. Details about this law and its practise are described. It is concluded that Allemansrätt may be an uncommon contemporary example of a desirable philosophical attitude.
