  • Abstract in English : ABSTRACT: It is at the boundaries between planning, design, implementation, social and educational work that interesting possibilities open up for new approaches to the design of the residential and play environments. Open space is used as an educational resource through which to help people to come to terms with their own environment. The educational process also incorporates the development and implantation of the design, and the process becomes part of the use of the site. One of the important roles of the designer in this process is to provide the spatial and organizational preconditions, which stimulate the more flexible use and alteration of an open space, not just by children but also by adults. This symbiosis between planning, education and social work indicates that new approaches towards ‘integrated’ action in the area of designing for and improving the play environment are possible if all parties involved will take a flexible approach
