- Abstract in English : The purpose of this paper is to provide a brief historical perspective on the evolution of the profession of landscape architecture in the United States. The approach taken is to suggest significant benchmarks and area. The benchmarks are Key personalities and selected publications that have, during the past century and one-half, contributed significantly to the growth of the profession. The eras suggest significant changes in and/or expansions of the profession.
