- Contents in English : Tree planning has been proposed by the municipal government as a measure to alleviate air pollution in Beijing (China). This study examines that proposal. The study was designed to provide a more detailed analysis of the Beijing urban forest and its effect on air pollution. Four objectives were addressed in the Study: (1) to describe the current composition and structure of the Beijing urban forest; (2) to quantify the major air pollutants; (3) to quantify the biogenic volatile organic compound (a source of air pollutants) from the urban forest; (4) to calculate the sequestration of CO2.
