- Outline : The thesis examines preferences for the grasslands in the Swedish traditional cultural landscape. Preferences is discussed in relation to biological and cultural factors, and some central issues in landscape preference research are addressed and empirically tested. These include the prediction of preference, consensus in preference judgements and the perceptual categorisation of landscapes by laypersons. The results show that preferences is closet connected to how interesting the landscape is to explore.
