Land in waiting The city of Bernburg is in a process of transition, no one knows where is the ultimate destination, but while going through this process, it is important to broaden the perspective which not only concern short term benefit to the human beings, but also to concern the matrix of nature. It is an opportunity to provide a better environment to the nature, the members who live in it and human beings. Only by doing this, the imagination of future will be thriving. In the present situation in Bernburg, the most part of land are unoccupied and waiting for relevant treatment. The high amount of building-up area isolates the social actives and nature connections in the region of Bernburg, because of the dispersed land; it consumes the social and natural resources day by day. The current problems are:
1. Divided green islands.
2. Missing Connection between river and green space.
3. Missing connected green space with center. The missing part in between should be embedded into certain elements to fulfill the future development.
Land in changing
In order to achieve the balance in development of nature and human society, this study is trying to concern ecological and planning aspect. First is to apply certain credible ecological theories into the city of Bernburg, to link the dispersed green space to accommodate higher density of habitants. Second is to provide the model to meet the need of shirking city.
