  • Outline in English : As an integral part of this interdisciplinary work, studies of community attachment are equally disparate in the origins and concerns. The purpose of this chapter is to assess this fragmented literature and to suggest some ways that theoretical understanding of community sentiment might be made whole. To do so, the author first provides an interdisciplinary review of recent work on local sentiment, base on empirical studies that are exemplary of widely different approaches. This integrative survey will clarify the multidimensional character of community sentiment ant is complex sources in both subjectively perceived and objective aspects of the local environment.
