- Abstract in English : An interview with Tony Hiss (the author of The Experience of place, 1990) who wants to build connections between people and landscape. Places of natural beauty as well as built landscapes with the right qualities can encourage experiencing these places to slow down and engage their senses in a process Hiss terms simultaneous perception. He coined the phrase just to try to give a name to the switching of attention from a narrow focus to a broader focus, and those moments when we consciously give equal weight to what we’re seeing and hearing and tasting and smelling. Hiss suggests some tips for creating place worth experiencing.
