- Abstract in English : The UTAD Campus came into being in 1975 with the acquisition of the Quinta de Prados (Meadows Estate). With about 95 hectares, is today a landscape composed of different types of land use, among which can be distinguished agricultural areas, woods, escarpments of the river Corgo, areas that are built on, areas for human vehicular and foot-traffic, fallow areas, a heritage centre based on the original Estate's centre which has been preserved and improved, the garden settings, and in addition, themed collections which are part of The Botanic Garden of UTAD - and recognized as such since 1998 by the Iberian-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens.
