Keçiören Parks district of Ankara is a residential area which is located on the valley system. Rapid and unplanned development is a cause of a limited budget of the district. As a result, transportation and settlement in this topography has been trying to remedy that has caused the big problems in land use and transportation. In addition, by the settlement it was ignored the natural structure and stability of the valley, and so, prepared the base for the many future problems.
The rapid and unplanned urban development in existing urban settlement in the case should be reconsidered. In this context, the development process of Keçiören district must also be reconsidered.
The working area is 45 ha, the average population density is 7000.
The recommended transportation system was proposed not to give a priority to a single subordinate transportation, but to have a green features and the human scale adopted design principles.
The squares, green regions, pedestrian systems and the inner connections between them located in the project area, were designed by considering the strong visual relationship with each other and the ecological integrity.
By this project, it was aimed;
1- A higher standard contemporary and urban settlements in Ankara to gain
2- To solve the problems within providing the ecological development and increasing recreational apportunities by craeting the active and passive recreation corridors; by recovering the natural features of the valley
3- To protect the urban landscape and provide the microclimatic circulationby reclimating the valley system
4- Process initiated by a neighborhood of green belt would be an example to all districts and neighborhoods throughout the city as a groundwork to ensure the ecological integrity
5- To eliminate the physical gap caused by the topographical features and unplanned urbanization
6- To bring a new solution to the vehicle traffic independent of human integration
7- To provide the own natural development of the valley without any need of human intervention by using herbaceous plants, shrubs, and tree species existing in its natural vegetation.
