This project, funded by the European Commission, started in January 2009. University of Liverpool, Department of Civic Design (Thomas Fischer and Urmila Jha-Thakur) is the lead partner. Other partners include the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava (Ingrid Belcakova) and the Austrian AN!DEA Institute/University of Graz (Ralf Aschemann). The principal objective of this project is to identify ways on how to enhance international attractiveness of post-graduate European environmental assessment and management (EAM) education, based on the development of a better understanding of European practice and East Asian post-graduate EAM interests and requirements. Furthermore, co-operation opportunities between European and East Asian higher education institutions are sought. The project follows on from an earlier Erasmus Mundus Action 4 project, PENTA (Promotion of European Education on Environmental Assessment for Third Country Audience).
