- Brief Description : The Garden of Virtues was created with as a plant nursery, built on a terraced hillside overlooking the Douro River. Here, there was a great diversity of plants, placed according to botanical, aesthetic and commercial principles. Recently restored by the City of Porto, it was transformed into a public park. In the slopes, were created lawns, linked by staircases, but were conserved several trees and shrubs (some secular, like a ginkgo eighteenth century) and planted some camellias. Structures such as spleens and balconies, in concrete, mimicking the trunks of trees were also preserved. Situated in the historic center, this is a place with breathtaking views across the river Douro and Porto.
