  • Abstract in English : OUTLINE: This paper is on children’s upbringing. Safety is an important part of popular discourses about how parents should raise their children. Parents negotiate and establish the extent of their children’s personal geographies according to their understandings of what restrictions a good parent should impose on their youngsters and according to their perceptions of their offspring’ competence to avoid or cop with public dangers. This process of negotiating children’s spatial boundaries and disciplining them for any infringements is highly gendered.
