By means of a construction workshop, a student project was implemented in the surrounding of the mensa during July 2007, being supervised by the Faculty of Landscape Architecture / Construction Technique.
Generating processes with the support of animation and modelling software enabled the creation of continuous complex forms. Development and research of new digital design methods as well as implementation of results into physical models and built “realities” formed the core theme of two workshops (theory and practise).
All installations were able to be realized by approaching new technical solutions, such as special shuttering techniques (free forms via CNC negative-shaping) or special choice of materials and special mixture ratios (e.g. application of UHPC concrete, developed at the University of Kassel).
