  • Abstract in English : A random sample of 9-11 year-old children living in 18 suburbs of Sydney, Australia were interviewed regarding their likes and dislikes about their neighbourhood, and their overall evaluation of their area as a place for children to grow up in. The major reasons advanced for liking or disliking a neighbourhood were plotted against risk scores, showing a complex pattern of associations, with parks particularly valued by children in the highest risk areas.
