Kvartalul sovietic – o comunitate verde

The construction of new residential assemblies set new standards in terms of collective housing. These new assemblies contain besides the actual living area, common use areas, for outdoor activities and socializing – playgrounds, leisure areas, squares, sports facilities.
Although the studied area benefits of extensive green spaces, they are not used to their full potential: they are fragmented by roads and enclosed. The project has as foundation the concept of sustainable development, spatial restructuring, conversion of existing disused structures on site and social awareness. In short, the project aims to bring the residential complex in the current collective living standards.
• Sustainability – aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also for future generations.
• Reconversion – the conversion of disused (decommissioned) structures.
• Restructuring – reorganizing the spatial structure in order to meet the current needs of the community.
• Social awareness – to be aware of the problems that the community faces on a day-to-day basis and understand how team work can improve the quality of the public space and so the quality of living.
