  • Abstract in English : A study on the work of Horace Cleveland. This Nineteenth century landscape architect conceived of the city as a work of art. The development of Cleveland’s aesthetic can be traced directly to ideas about the American landscape that were explored in significant works of American literature. He suggested that his art must be inspired by natural environment en believed that the careful manipulation of the elements of nature communicated to individual society, which ultimately resulted in the advancement of civilization
