- Abstract in English : The root-resistant waterproofing is a pre-requisite of durable and secure green roofs. Technical features and professional installation of the waterproofing are laid down in the “German Flat Roof Principles”. Against the backdrop of the DIN 18531 draft (water proofing for non-used roofs) the paper will present future demands for waterproofing on extensive roofs. Apart from the very important root barrier, other kinds of stress for the waterproofing like moisture, mechanical stress, thermal stress, fire prevention and protection against wind uplift will be discussed.
