  • Abstract in English : This paper provides a brief critique of the current local - global debate and basically contends that distinct landscape locales must offer distinct opportunities for our professional practices, teaching and research programs. Turkey has a great wealth of outstanding landscape features and cultural characteristics which must inevitably support and give direction to the teaching strategies, methods and techniques, content of curricula and research schemes countrywide. Such wealth must also hold a potential for opening fresh vistas on the globalised and borderless society as well as the local one.
