  • Abstract in English : Those aspects of quality of life related to a person’s ability to perform daily tasks are examined by means of choice-based conjoint analysis in two groups of people with differing degrees and types of visual loss. Resulting utilities show subtle shifts in relative importance at different stages of visual loss. These shifts are not revealed through either focus groups or conventional questionnaires and highlight the benefit of this type of analysis on data from weak levels of measurement. Correlations between different methods of assessing quality of life are low, indicating caution about their interpretation.
