‘Aschrottpark’ is located the the Western quarter of Kassel and was implemented during the establishment of the quarter at the end of the 19th century.
Today, the park provides an untended impression. Research and observation of users make clear that the park does not exist in the people’s awareness.
Further observations have been conducted during the project. Moreover, additional parks have been assessed regarding their context between design and use.
The students developed ideas how the park could be designed more pleasantly, such as in the form of a sports and play park or by highlighting of remarkable view axes towards city center and Hercules Statue.
