- Abstract in English : Is working with people a recipe for good, bad or just indifferent design? Lessons learnt from consulting with residents are considered. Local residents kwon more about a site than any outside professional. Listening to what they have to say is not about being polite but gathering the best possible data from which to work. Involving a community from the inception to completion of a project means ensuring that residents fully understand what is achievable. This necessitates constant two-way communication and a delicate balancing act between encouraging aspirations and ensuring delivery of the scheme.
