- Abstract in English : This article investigates the impacts of socio-political contexts and practices over time on urban landscape of Ankara, concentrating on public urban landscapes tracking the meanings’ construction and change as one of the many dimensions of planning the urban landscape. The article constructs a simplified history of “planning the urban landscape” related to meanings, generated by ruling powers and landscape-human interaction decoding the elements of meaning construction. Finally, it presents the picture of landscape change in this context and questions future prospects for the role of study and research of meaning in urban landscape, urban landscape planning and design, and for landscape architect in Ankara case.
