Urban open spaces are produced along a specific process. This process is not investigated so far. Its cultural context, the impulses for decisions, which compose the design and finally built product are investigated through a proces analysis. Data basis are three study cases from the institutes archive ‘nextland’ which is a digital collection of contemporary landscape architectural projects run by the institute of landscape architecture together with the Austrian association of landscape architecture.
