  • Abstract in English : Many recreation and education personnel and parents seem to believe that large numbers of children are being seriously injured on playgrounds. The basic question, which must be addressed, is whether children’s play environments are as dangerous as one believe. One of the conclusions is: Adults must not let safety become an over-riding, compulsive issue. Over-protecting a child can perhaps be more dangerous to children’s physical and psychological development than the hazards from which they are being shielded. Risk is part of life and children must learn how to deal with it.
