  • Contents in English : There is a growing amount of research that shows that nature surroundings have restorative or stress reducing effects. These effects of nature have been attributed to beneficial influences on information processing. The authors tested the hypothesis that exposure to nature stimuli restores depleted voluntarily attention capacity and affects selective attention. Exposure to nature stimuli compared to urban stimuli elicits reduced physiological arousal and less attentional selectivity. These findings provide an important step in understanding why nature stimuli are experienced as restorative.
