  • Abstract in English : There is increasing recognition that green spaces play an important role within society, not only in promoting health and wellbeing, but also in increasing social inclusion and community engagement with local natural environments. The Hebden Bridge Sculpture Trail is an annual temporary site-specific outdoor sculpture exhibition, which provides opportunities for community groups, established and aspiring artists to exhibit and/or create transitory artworks within the natural environment. Whilst our broader research project seeks to understand the wider practices and experiences associated with the making, installation and reception of sculpture within the natural environment, this paper will focus on the role of collaborative arts events in initiating new discussions on landscape, place and identity, and the extent to which experiences of the Trail can inform future strategies for creative engagement with landscape and the countryside as a key cultural resource
