  • Abstract in English : OUTLINE: Many new city dwellers prefer to live in the city rather than in a suburban residential neighbourhood, but will then claim the public domain of the city as their own living space – for themselves as well as for their children. This paper will show how Dutch urban planners, politicians and citizens try to create, either in a formal or in an informal way, urban space for young people of both sexes belonging to various age groups.
