- Abstract in English : Usually it is impossible to directly compare the means of expressed intent in plans because of variations in content. The afforestation plans developed in Denmark in the early 1990’s is an exemption to that since the government requested the fourteen Danish counties to designate areas for afforestation and areas where afforestation was undesirable based on the exact same guidelines. Nevertheless it is remarkable to notice how different these plans appear when hanged on a wall next to each other. Some are kept in black and white using different hues, hatches or other raster. Others stick to green shades of color and some combine different colors and/or black and white. However, landscape planners seldom discuss how they express their intension in drawing and what this medium is capable of or, in other words, how to cope with the problem of representation. That is the aim of this paper using the afforestation plans as a basis.
